The power reset — every car back to stock, engines corrected, tuner upgrades
This one changes how every car in the game makes power, so we started everyone from the same place. Here is what happened, in player terms.
The reset (September 28, 2026)
The game was paused for the update. When it came back:
- Every car is back to OEM on its model's correct engine. The engine that was in the car was removed and replaced with a brand-new stock engine for that model, wearing its factory parts. Saved gear ratios and tunes on those engines were reset with them.
- Nothing you bought was deleted. Every non-OEM part that was on a car or its engine is in your spare parts, ready to refit. 9,735 parts moved across 3,135 cars.
- Kept on the car: wheels, tires, custom graphics and exterior appearance parts (bumpers, skirts, hoods, wings, lights).
- Swapped engines are gone. A K24 in a Civic, an LS1 in an RX-7 and the like were removed rather than carried over, because the engine lineup itself changed (see below). The shop sells the swaps again, now built for each car.
- Used Car Lot listings came home. All 88 listed cars went back to their posters' garages, and pending trades were withdrawn. Nobody was charged.
- The Tuner Market was cleared. Listed setups and unclaimed offers were removed because none of them work on the new engines. Your own saved builds were kept and still work.
Power, measured on every car
- HP and TQ are now measured per car, per engine, per aspiration. Every part in the catalogue was dyno-tested on every car it fits, naturally aspirated, turbo and supercharged, so the numbers you see in the dyno room, the dashboard and the tuner are what the car actually makes.
- Turbo and supercharger delivery is tuned per engine, so a boosted build lands where it should against the NA build instead of one always winning.
- Every car has its own engines. Swap engines used to be shared between models; each car now gets its own copy, tuned for that car. Twenty-one models also got their correct stock engine (350Z, 240SX S13, 370Z, MR2 Spyder, Scion tC 2008, the Impreza STIs, the SLR McLarens and others).
- Engine weight counts, and some engines can lighten the car.
- Dealership cards show each car's stock horsepower, torque and weight.
- Valves are not a turbo. The "Enjin Turbo-R Valves" were being read as a turbocharger, handing NA cars free boost. Fixed.
- Factory-turbo and supercharged cars without a boost controller run the unit's rated boost, not an inferred stock figure (this had knocked cars like the Furai off their times).
- Spec and trophy cars can change aspiration and engine through the shop like any other car. Only the Box, the Top Fool Dragster and the Duck stay sealed, and the parts these cars accept are still limited to their allowed handful.
Tuner Workshop (members)
- "Build it" now asks which car. The confirm shows every car of that model you own, by name and plate, or "Buy a new one" with the car's price added to the total. The quote updates as you pick, and the finished car loads in the workshop.
- Building from parts you already own costs nothing — and now actually works. A build made entirely from your spare bin came back as "insufficient funds"; fixed.
- Old saved builds work on the new engines. A design saved against an engine your car no longer carries builds onto the car's own version of that engine, no swap purchased.
- Boost and air/fuel sliders on the sandbox dyno, saved with the build. No cap on saved builds; a Saved builds tab.
Garage
- Spare rims and tires stay with you when a car sells. Only what is bolted to the car goes with it.
- Bought exterior parts show up. Eyelids, headlights and other bought exterior parts were vanishing in the garage when the catalogue also listed them as an OEM option. Fixed.
- Garage screens load much faster — the garage was reading every part you own for every car, every time.
Racing
- Bracket races: the delayed lane's reaction time is right. The held lane's clock started on the other lane's tree, so its lights were reported slow by exactly the handicap. Fixed for every stagger.
Staff
- Moderators holding more than one role no longer lose their tools, and the Programs & Logging tab has its own permission.
